Hyperice Hypervolt Go 2 review

Compact Hypervolt Go 2 assessed in Black (U.S. SKU 55205 001-01); an Arctic Grey Go 2 (model 55205 001-00) is separately documented as a finish-only variant from an official Open Box offer, with its own exact body rendering.

A useful fit for

The Go 2 is the lightest exact Hyperice gun reviewed in this group at a listed 1.5 lb, with a two-head kit and USB-C device port. Its three-button speeds make it a simpler arrangement than Go 3's five-step dial; the current product page continues to list the black version.

The main tradeoff

The package inventory does not name a carry case or wall adapter; the cable still needs a suitable power source. It includes only Flat and Bullet heads, has three rather than five speeds, and official specs say no Bluetooth. QuietGlide is not a numeric noise rating, and actual runtime depends on speed and pressure.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Does Go 2 include a pouch or case?

No case or pouch is named in the exact black-kit written inventory. Do not assume one from a product image or another seller's bundle.

How does Go 2 differ from Go 3?

Go 2 is listed at 1.5 lb, three speeds and Flat/Bullet heads; Go 3 is 1.6 lb, five speeds and Flat/Wedge heads with a carry case. Both are compact Go-family models, but their kits are not interchangeable assumptions.

Can I use the Go 2 app?

Hyperice's exact Go 2 specifications say Bluetooth: No. It operates from the device's three-speed button and does not provide the documented Bluetooth routines found on the Hypervolt 2.

The smaller, simpler Hypervolt in the current collection

Hypervolt Go 2 is the black compact-format device reviewed here, SKU 55205 001-01. Hyperice's US page lists a 1.5 lb weight, dimensions of 6.7 × 7.3 × 2 in, three speeds and two included heads: Flat and Bullet. The Go name is supported by a small, light package, but “compact” here is a practical comparison tag—not a guarantee that the handle will suit every grip or fit every bag. Hyperice's current collection still lists Go 2, so the older generation number should not be used alone to call this exact offer discontinued.

The U.S. outlet also identifies an Arctic Grey Go 2 finish, model 55205 001-00 (the observed open-box offer SKU is 55205 001-00-B). Hyperice's grey page repeats the Go 2's listed speed, weight, two-head and cable package; Best Buy's exact model record independently supplies the standard Arctic Gray model number. That is a finish-only variant, not a different Go generation, and only its open-box offer was observed here—no standard-condition grey offer or present stock is inferred. Hyperice says open-box units may have minor product/package blemishes, are inspected and repackaged, include standard accessories, carry a six-month warranty and cannot be returned. The image below identifies the grey body only; it does not show condition or the delivered package.

The written package inventory names a 5 V USB-A-to-USB-C charging cable, not a wall power block or a storage case. That's a useful distinction if you're buying for travel: the device body has a USB-C charging port, but the cable still needs an appropriate adapter, and I did not find an included full-device case or pouch on the exact page. Hypervolt Go 3, its newer sibling, has a five-speed dial, Flat and Wedge heads, a listed case and the same family of USB-C charging. The Go 2 stays slightly lighter on the maker's specs and keeps a two-head arrangement.

Three speeds and two heads

Hyperice's support specification gives three rates—2,200, 2,750 and 3,200 percussions per minute—and says the device has QuietGlide technology. It does not publish a numeric dB rating for this Go 2, so a shopper who requires a numeric manufacturer noise figure cannot confirm that requirement from the reviewed record. QuietGlide is a feature name, not a substitute for an acoustic test. Hyperice also documents no Bluetooth on the exact Go 2 specifications; the device uses its own three-speed button rather than the documented app routines available on Hypervolt 2.

The two included heads are Flat and Bullet. They offer fewer named contact choices than the five-head Hypervolt 2 kit, and they are not the same named set as Go 3's Flat and Wedge. If you already own attachments from another Hypervolt generation, confirm fit before assuming they interchange. The manufacturer's product image can show parts, but the written package inventory is the stronger evidence of what the standard kit actually lists.

Battery claims and use instructions

The product page and support specifications state approximately three hours of battery life. The operating instructions add that average runtime is 2+ hours and depends on speed and applied pressure. Read that as a qualified maker estimate, not a measured guarantee at each speed. The same instructions say the device should not operate while connected to the charger, and advise switching off before changing a head. They describe a three-second hold to turn the device on and button presses to cycle the three speed settings.

Hyperice's safety material says to use a dry, clean surface and light moving contact on soft tissue, around 60 seconds per region. It warns against bony areas and use on bruises, irritated or injured skin, asks users to stop with pain or discomfort, and lists conditions that merit a physician's advice before using a percussion device. These are manufacturer warnings; they do not make this a medical device or prove a health outcome. For flights, Hyperice says carry-on only. Check the battery label and your airline's current requirements rather than treating a travel-friendly label as universal approval.

Who should keep it on a shortlist?

Go 2 is a sensible comparison if light weight, a small body and a simple three-step control matter more than a case, five heads, app routines or numeric noise data. It is a documented 1.5 lb model with a two-head kit and a USB-C charging connection. Go 3 makes a different trade: it is listed at 1.6 lb and adds two speed steps and a case but still has two heads, swapping Bullet for Wedge. A full-size Hypervolt 2 includes more heads and Bluetooth but weighs 1.8 lb and has no numeric dB value either.

Before buying, confirm the Go 2 black name and SKU, Flat/Bullet head set, cable, adapter and any seller-added pouch. Check the current manual and warranty at the exact offer. A limited official search did not establish a Go 2-specific recall notice, but that is not exhaustive clearance. This assessment is based on product and support documentation; I have not owned, handled, measured or tested the Go 2, and make no claim about its felt intensity, room noise, battery endurance or results.
